Yet again woke up to blazing sunshine and an overnight frost. My right knee has been sore for a few weeks now and thought I would give it a rest from cycling this morning and go for a hike with Jane. I did not want to do too many hills so we parked up at Low Shincliffe and headed off for a flat 6 mile route, see photo at the bottom. The sun was out for most of the hike but by god it was cold in the wind and when the sun went in. The tracks were bone dry and rock hard. There was loads of other people out and about the trails were very busy. There was a running event from Durham race course, kids were playing rugby in the fields, it was all go. Below are a few snaps from the hike. All in 6 miles on the nose in 1hr 36mins & 300ft of climbing.
