Fresh Goods Sunday - Garmin Cadence Sensor 2

I have used Garmin speed and cadence sensors for a long time now and I have never had any real problems with any of them. Garmin has made them a lot smaller and easier to fit over the years and this latest model of the Cadence Sensor could not be any easier to fit. The senor comes with three different sized bands to suit all crank arm sizes / shapes. I bought this one for my new Spec Creo SL. The Praxxis cranks was a medium size band. The band on my last senor snapped after time but these seem a little thicker and stronger. I use a hook pic tool to loop over the ends onto the sensor. Once on it does not move about. You have to re programme the senor into your Garmin and that only took approx 10 seconds or so to find. It is up and running and is reading the rpm without fault. It takes a few revolutions of the crank for it to read. I don't think the price is too bad if you shop around and get a fiver or tenner off.
RRP £34.99 and I paid £24.99

Manufacturers blurb -
Monitor your pedalling cadence as you ride with this easy-to-install wireless sensor. With no magnets or other exposed parts to line up, this sensor is easy to install, maintain and move between bikes.

The Cadence Sensor 2 fastens to any size crank arm and measures pedal strokes per minute so you can get the most out of your training. ANT+® connectivity and Bluetooth® Low Energy technology let you send cadence data to our Garmin Connect online community and other training apps, compatible devices and fitness equipment for better data when you ride indoors and outdoors.

I also cleaned the bike yesterday and gave it a polish. The metallic paintwork was shinning like a shit house door handle. I have spaced the pedals out with a couple of washers on each side but noticed the crankarms have a few light scuff marks so cleaned them down and fitted some Bike Shield.

Not very nice looking in the sun but it will do its job!
