The first time was on an evening which was overcast but clear views and a near gale force wind. We took the hard route up following the wall parallel to Cadmuir forest before dropping down onto the John Buchan way and left up to the summit. Returned back on the John Buchan Way to the Lodge.
The second time we took the easier route of Cadmuir Forest up to the last gate in the wall then drop down to the John Buchan way before turning left and up to the Cairn / old fort. A lot less wind this time and sun
