After two days of work around the house it was time to get some fresh air. Angus was off to work and Arran was out with his mates so me and Jane had a drive up to Stanhope. We parked up at the Dales Centre and went out for our regular loop hike up through the quarry and around the top the fell before dropping down through the woods and back out in Stanhope. The sun was shinning for most of the time and it was not that cold but add in the near gale force wind on the exposed parts and it was real nippy in places. We seen a few out and about but it was pretty quiet to be honest. Once we dropped back in to Stanhope we walked along the main road then dropped down to the café at the train station for a cuppa and cake. We were the only ones in as the train was not working today so there was no trips out for customers. From there it was along the riverside and over the new bridge, further along the river then over the stepping stones at the ford, up past the out door swimming pool and back along the main road to the market place. We had a walk around the shops / farmers market, bought some goodies then called in past the chippy for late lunch. It was a steady drive home in the sunshine and air con on!
