Today was the first ride on the new Norco Search in rather damp, cold and misty weather. After a couple of initial creaks and groans it bedded in and was running smoothly for the rest of the short ride. The Di2 was spot on as ever, brakes were powerful and everything was working just right. The Gravel King tyres were on the max for grip on the wetter gravel sections of the route but on the dryer sections and the inter linking road sections they were spot on as normal. I could run a wider tyre tbh, shame Panaracer do not do a size between 28 and 32c. As for the ride well the front end is higher than the Pilgrims which will be better for my back but might drop the stem alittle to see how it rides. I changed the stem for the standard 100mm to 110mm but the reach on the hoods seemed to stretched so might swap the stems again and try the 100mm it came with. It nips along on the road sections and soon gathers speed with very little effort. On the gravel and out of the saddle on climbs the frame is defo more stiffer, not sure if this is due to the carbon instead of alu or the bolt through wheels.
I have read a couple of reports of a stiff front end but I have not noticed this yet, a few more rides and I will report back more on this. Below are a few pics from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon.
