During our short break in the Lake District we got some riding in. First up was Whinlatter - we did the Altura North then South followed by Blue until we hit the road then dropped down to Keswick on the C2C route. The weather was not the best with snow still on the top sections / shaded spots. One thing I noticed is that someone has gone around and chased out a groove from the lowest point of the deep puddles to try and drain them off on the North side. It is alot better but still not a 100%. Coming off the top on the South side is still very rough going and wet. Still good safe fun for the kids.
Me & Angus also did the North Face red loop @ Grizedale. It was dryish when we set off but the singletracks were suffering from very deep puddles, broken borad walk sections and fallen trees. 3/4 of the way around Angus got a puncture on the rear, sliced inner tube, the new spare had a hole in and my pump broke. So three inner tubes, 4no Co2 bombs & 2no pumps later we were again. By this time the heavens had opened and we were soaked to the bone. It was a fast last 1/3 to get back to the visitors centre. When we got back the rain had stopped - typical! Below are some photos of the action
