This was an offer i could not refuse as i was after a good quality gxp chainset for the Scott CX Addict frameset we bought last year. The standard 50t outer ring will be swapped for a more offroad friendly 46t and keeping the inner 34t. I have a couple Sram red chainsets but they are the bb30 version and have had no problems. At the time the rrp was around £400 but have been 1/2 price for a couple of years, I paid less than £180 inc next day delivery. The chainsets do not come with a bottom bracket but i had a spare Sram gxp bb on a bike that was not being used. It has knocked a good chuck of weight off the bike and Angus is happy!
We also swapped the back mech from a short cage 105 to an old XT med cage so he can run 11-32t, we also swapped the wheels and tyres to Marathon Extreme ready for some miles between now and the start of the cx season in Aug.
