Short local road loop on the Cannondlae Synapse Neo bike

First time I have managed to get out on the bike for a while. Saturday was spent doing jobs outside etc as they forecasted storms / rain for 4 days! Well it rained all day Monday, Tuesday and this morning, so much for the heat wave, it has not landed in County Durham yet! Todays ride started off cloudy / overcast with the temperature around 12-13 degrees! and the wind was blowing away again which made it even harder. The roads were quiet so that was one good thing and the sun did come out near the end. My legs felt hollow for the whole ride so not sure what was up there. I have now also noticed that the camera lens must have been dirty as all the snaps have not come out very clear! oh well not too worry, hopefully more soon -

Fresh Goods Sunday - Gore C5 Optiline Short Sleeve Jersey

If you are a follower of this blog you know I do like Gore Bikewear. I have several Gore tops and the quality is always excellent. I found this model in the sale at the back end of last year but has been too cold to wear it over the winter & spring months. Well I finally managed to cut the tags off and get it on my back in the last month. Again the quality is very good. It is a thin top so I wear a sleeveless base layer underneath and gilet if there is a cool wind. The main reason for purchasing the top was due to the length of the sleeves. The longer length covers my skin graph on my upper arm a treat and keeps it out of the sun light. There are three back pockets and a smaller zipped pocket. There are a couple of small reflective strips at the sides of the rear pockets. The full zip on the front is smooth in operation and had no problems so far. The top washes well and due to the thin material dries very quick. As for the rrp well that is high but shop around like I did and you will grab a bargain.
RRP £79.99 and I paid £42.87

Weekly Catch up and local gravel ride and some fresh goodies.

The weather has been better this week with a lot less rain! I managed a 2 1/2 hour walk yesterday and out for a spin on the bike today. It was sunny / cloudy / sunny the whole ride with a very strong breeze in places. It was only a short local mainly gravel loop with a couple of old railway lines in. The roads and lines were quiet, I think everybody who does not have kids have gone away on holiday. Below are a few snaps from the ride and some photos of some new goodies that have landed this week as well.

I am still having problems with the WTB tubeless tyres on my Cannondale Synapse Neo bike. I replaced the rear with a brand new one after the first one leaked sealant then blew up of its own accord. The second tyre leaked air all the time but I gave it another week and its losing less air but there is more sealant coming through the sidewalls! (see photos below). So I decided  to order another 700 x 32c tubeless tyre- Maxxis this time so we will see that that is as crap as WTB tyres.
The new Smudge painting as landed this week and ready to hang. If you are around my age then you will recognise the bike straight away - Raleigh Burner!

Fresh Goods Sunday - LifeLine Rubber Frame Protectors

I added these into my Wiggle order the other week as I am sick of losing the Sram frame protectors when lifting the bikes in and out of the van. I find them lying in the van, on the drive etc. The wrap protectors take a little longer to fit but once in place a they don't slide up and down the cable out of place or b they drop off and you lose them! They come in various colours to suit your bike and are excellent value for money. The wraps also do what they say on the tin, protect you frame from the cable rubbing up against it. If I order from Wiggle again I will add anther packet of then (4 in ach pack) if they get the black ones back in stock.
RRP £2.99 and I paid £1.40
