I have used Met helmets for many years and have always been excellent value for money. The construction on the higher end models has always been very good and never had one fail. The straps and rear tension system have never gone wrong and are easy to adjust. The old cloth/foam pads used to eventually rot and drop to pieces but the new gel pads are spot on. The helmet has plenty ventilation and you can get a thin skull cap underneath. The feel on my head is comfortable with no movement. I have used several different road and mtb models over the past 25+ years. The designs change slightly over the years along with colours but thats about it. I always find it best to try helmets on in a shop as the same manufacturer may feel different on your head between different models. Met normally comes in two sizes, i am always the large!

Fresh Goods Sunday - Bacho 80 Series Adjustable Wrench

You cannot go wrong with a good set of adjustable spanners in your tool box. I found these when we were on holiday in the lakes. We were having a look around a old fashioned hardware / ironmongers shop in Windermere when it was chucking it down outside. I knew I had some good adjustable spanners at home but bought them anyway. Once back home I already had Bahco 10" & 6" but not the 8". So Angus has ended up with two of these and my not so good 8" for nowt! I have Bahco adjustable spanners dating back to when my dad was using them and never had any problems. I did notice the thickness of the handle section is thinner now than 20+ years ago! Freezing winters walk down and around Durham City centre n back

Today me and Jane had a walk down into Durham then around the riverside before heading to the café in the Cathedral for a cuppa and cake. Then we joined back onto the riverside path for another loop before some shopping. After that it was a walk back home (uphill with shopping bags!). It never got above freezing and no sun but there was also very little wind. Below are a few overcast / cloudy cold looking snaps. We even had few flurries of snow on the way down.

I was not going up there today with my bad lungs! straight past to the boat house

Found some new single track in the woods on the way back up, need to go exploring on the Beast of NE

Soon be over the railway line and heading home
