Fresh Goods Sunday - Polaris Venom Strike Short Sleeved Jersey

I was not after any new short sleeved tops but when I put an order in for Angus this was part of the order. The top was too small for him so I said I would take it. Its slightly too big but I don't have any semi loose fit short sleeved jerseys. The best part about he top apart from the sale price it has very long sleeve length so covers up my operation/skin graft from the sun on my upper right arm. I was that impressed I went back on to the Polaris website and ordered another one but in the second colour. I have worn it a couple of times and is spot on. The material does not feel as luxurious as a Gore top next to your skin or the general manufacture but then its about a third of what I pay for a good Gore top in a sale. The spec on the jersey is below -
The jersey comes in red/white & black/white and sizes ranging from S - XXL
RRP £52.99 and I paid £12.50
The Venom Strike Road Cycling Jersey made using Cool dry fast wicking fabric for high breathability and comfort. This performance road jersey features three rear pockets and gripper elastic hem, YKK zips throughout, a full front zip for ventilation and a rear security pocket. The mesh underarms and side panels also aid ventilation and the reflective print detailing ensures increased visibility in all lights.

Sunday local morning ride on the Mason & this weeks deliveres

Yesterday we had planned a family bike ride for this morning with all four of us going to ride through to Bishop for a cuppa and back but lack of pre sorting etc put pay to that plan. Found out Arrans shoes were too small for him so used my spare pair but the buckles kept hitting off the cranks. His shorts and leggings were too small for him as well! so Jane & Arran had to turn back after two miles and me and Angus continued but ended up doing a different loop. Angus was on the Dale Super X but sections of the new route were just to rough so had to do some diversions / taking it steady. I decided not to take any pics apart from the one above for a change.

I say this weeks deliveries, this might have come last week!

Additional Hunt rim tape as the existing tape has been recalled

Will fit the new tape over the existing asap

Also a delivery from Mason, some missing items from the Hunt wheel box.

Going to have a few days off from exercise so will be back mid next week, enjoy the rain forecasted for tomorrow and Tuesday.

1/2 Over the Top Offroad / Gravel ride with the Mason Bokeh

Forecast was looking good up to 1pm before the storms were due so I was out on the Mason just after 6.15am. It was lovely and sunny but not too warm to start with. Todays route is called the "1/2 over the top" a name from the old Durham Cycle Sport club ride days! I have not done it since 2015 so was a well over due route to complete. It is mainly off road / old railway lines, woods, tracks, cycle paths and the longest road section is a stretch out of Tow Law on the A68 before turning off over the moor. The route was bone dry and easy going but the some of the tracks through the woods . moors were baked dry solid ruts from when it was real muddy. When I left it was 13 degrees, when I got back in it was 24 degrees.
I took it steady and averaged 12mph over the 40 miles and ave hr of 145 which is low for me! with 2000ft of climbing.
The Mason went well but the headset feels like it is loose again, need to investigate this further when I get a mo. Below are quite a few pics from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon -

Time for a shower & shave!
