Finally a ride in some heat and sun - local gravel loop

Well its been a very long time since I can say I have had a ride on my bike and it felt warm not to mention sunny. Not sure where it has come from but might as well make the most of it. Don't worry though it is back to normal tomorrow then about eight days of rain from Friday onwards. I just did one of my straight forward local loops taking in two of County Durham's old railway lines. There was quite a few others out enjoying the good weather so it was very stop / starty. Not to worry its all part of the fun. All in just over 19 miles with 800ft of climbing. Below are a few snaps from the spin, enjoy and hopefully more soon-

A short spin up and down the C2C route - Annfield Plain to Harraton n back

Just a quick blast up and down the old railway / C2C route today. I did not have much time so was a short spin in the cold / cloudy / overcast weather. On the plus side very little or people out n about. Nothing new to report along this stretch of track apart from someone has whacked all the over growth around the stones at Annfield Plain area. Below are a few cold looking snaps from the enjoy, enjoy and hopefully more soon -

Bank Holiday - Early morning local road ride - Pontop Pike & Burnhope Transmitters

Well it was drier than yesterday morning at Gateshead so I decided to take my road Creo out for a local loop. There was no sunrise but had a few sunny spells on the outward leg. The temperature is still low for the year and had three tops and my 3/4 bib longs on. On the plus side there was not much traffic on the roads so was a more pleasant road loop. The wind on the tops was a little blowey to say the least! Below are a few snaps from the ride. All in just under 35 miles in 2hrs 22 mins with 3500ft of climbing. There are also a couple of short video clips at the bottom of the blog, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
