Early Saturday Morning Spin on the E Bike around Durham and surrounding arae

I was up and out by 7.15am and it was cold and overcast. No sun rise this morning and as you can see in the pics below it was dull and cloudy to say the least. Durham and the trails were nice and quiet apart from a rowing competition down at the University boat club area. The bike was spot on and only used eco and tour modes over the 16 miles. As for me well my cough has come back again and is getting on my wick. We are off to the Car Show at Sedgefield race course today and I will post some pics up tomorrow. Talking of tomorrow if you are going out on your bike this weekend make it today as the forecast is heavy rain all day for tomorrow.
Enjoy the pics and hopefully more soon -

Sunny, hot & windy Tuesday local dusty ride on E Mtb

Back to work and its still sunny, hot and windy. I took the E bike today for a quick blast along the old railway line to Bishop n back. It was lovely and quiet with a few other bikers and walkers out. No one was daft enough to be running in it the heat that I seen. I had a canny old headwind nearly all the way through which made very fast going coming back. The lines are still bone dry, dusty and very fast going. I only managed to find one puddle today and no mud for a change. Below are a couple of sunny pics, enjoy as the temperatures are starting to drop from tomorrow with 12 degrees forecasted for Saturday! ie back to normal lol. Enjoy and hopefully more soon -

Bank Hol Monday - Weardale / Stanhope Common hike

This is just unreal for the NE of England, three days of sunshine and heat on a Bank Holiday weekend. Today me and Jane had a drive up to Stanhope and parked up at the Dales Centre. We then went for a hike up through the old quarry and up on to the moors. The sun was shinning but there was also a lovely cool breeze on the tops. From there we crossed over the moor and back down towards to Stanhope through the lovely shady woods. Once back in Stanhope we walked down the cafĂ© in the train station for a drink before heading along the riverside, over the bridge and then back over the stepping stones and on to the Dales centre to get changed. We had a look around the centre then down the shops for some shopping. On the way back we called in past Wolsingham park for a massive ice cream before driving home with the air con on full belt. The van was reading 29 degrees!
