Angus had a blow out on a side wall of a Conti road tyre many, many years ago and we did not have anything to repair / patch with when we were out on the ride. It was a telephone call job to come and pick him up from Wolsingham! From then we now carry one tyre boot patch on ever bike we own either in the saddle bag or storage water bottle along with patches and chain link. I have used them to patch a small tear in a sidewall and work well but you must make sure the rubber is dry and clean for it to stick. I have only ever used them with an inner tube. Not sure if they work with a tubeless sealant set up. You can cut them down to any size with a pair of scissors or sharp knife. There is three in a pack so work out at about a quid each.
RRP £4.99 and I paid £3.14 (if you shop around you can get them for less than £3)
