Well I said we were doing no jobs / work on the Sunday and get out on the road bikes. We prepared the winter road bikes the night before so we could get out early and enjoy the sun for a change. I charged my Di2, pumped the tyres up and they were ready. This morning I had a flat on the back so swapped the inner tube but nipped it so three tubes later we were away before 8am. The gritter's had been out again but not on the back country lanes we were mainly on so it was steady away on the ice. We had a tailwind all the way out but when we turned at the furthest point we had a very cold headwind nearly all the way back in. Very little traffic and enjoyable riding in the sun.
Its been a while since Angus has been out on his bike so it was a reality shock to his body! but we took it steady and he completed the 31 miles in 2hrs 23mins with 2000+ft of climbing. Back home and both bikes got a good wash and dry off. I did a couple of small tweaks before hanging away my Pilgrims. Below are some pics from ride, enjoy then the blog continues below with a hike around High Shincliffe / Low Shincliffe area.

this gave me an idea for an afternoon hike |

plenty of big puddles / streams coming off the fields |
Then me and Jane drove over to Low Shincliffe, parked up and went for a very wet / muddy hike around Low & High Shincliffe. As you can see in the photos the sun had gone and clouded over. 5.22 miles / 1hr 30mins later we finished the loop and the sun came back out just as we got back to the car. We called in past Brambles coffee shop at Shincliffe garden centre for some refreshments!! Below are a few pics for the walk, enjoy and more soon -
