What a start to the week, lashed down all day at work on Monday then yesterday is was dry but freezing cold and today there was some sun forecast so I decided to take a days holiday. The sun was slow in coming out and yet again there was a overnight frost. I had sort of planned a route which I have not done in a while but the roads were too icy for me. So I changed the plan and jumped onto the old railway line at Langley Park and headed for Consett. The Garmin was reading minus -2.5 degrees so was nippy to say the least. As ever this season when I was gaining height towards Consett it was getting sunnier and hotter. At the crossroads I turned left and headed for Parkhead on the Waskerley Way. I had no wind all the way until I crossed the A68 then it was a stiff head wind all the way to the top from there. There was very few others out n about and never seen a sole on the tops. It clouded over at the top and turned cold again. On the way back down I was flying as I had a tailwind. The sun soon come back out again and it warmed up. The Garmin was reading +4.5 degrees and all the frost / icy had mainly melted. Below are a few snaps from the 36 mile out n back ride. Time was 2 hr 37 min with just under 1500ft of climbing. Enjoy and hopefully more soon-
