What a difference a day makes, after yesterdays rather wet and cold ride today's ride was the complete opposite. I had wall to wall sunshine for the whole ride with the temperature ranging from 7.6 - 13.4 degrees. I was up and out early and started from Broompark Picnic area. I headed off up the old railway line to Waterhouses / Stanley Crook. The lines were in good condition with not too much mud / puddles, they were fine and quiet as well. Once at the top of Stanley Crook I descended down to Crook to pick up the road to Willington. With it being such a fine day I turned right at the Coop and headed off along the line to Bishop. The market place was quiet so I climbed out of Bishop on Durham road and turned right to follow the edge of the field to pick up the line to Spenny. Again it was lovely and quiet and dry. Slight headwind now to add to the fun. Once at Spenny I took the back road to Tudhoe Village / Croxdale / Browney then through the estate to come out at Bowburn. From there is was the back way to Low Shincliffe then through the very wet and muddy woods to come out at Durham Crem and over to Merry Oaks, back to the Stone Bridge then up the hill towards to Ushaw Moor to drop back on the line to the picnic area. All in 35 miles in a steady 2hr 47 mins with only 2000ft of climbing. Below are a few sunny snaps from the very enjoyable ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
