Weekly Catch Up - Snow

Overnight on Tuesday/Wednesday morning we had a light covering of snow and managed a 5k run along the old railway line from the coal factory at Willington to Brancepeth and back. It was hard going in the 40+ mph gusts, cold and tough ground conditions but got some shelter from the trees / bushes along the edge of the old railway line. The winters sun was blazing away and only passed one dog walker. Time 32.31 so getting slightly better.
Then overnight Wednesday / Thursday morning most of County Durham had a good covering of 4-5" of snow. I was up and shovelling away at 5.15am and was at work for 6.15am. The gritting lads and lass did a cracking job through the night and most main roads were ok. There was a good thaw during the day with temperatures reaching 5 degrees. I also had a walk for over an hour but was heavy going under foot. I was also down Dryburn Hospital for my 6 monthly check up and my clinical nurse was happy so all well for mo.
Below are a few snaps of the snow in the sun when I have been driving around the county the last 2-3 days. Not been up to Weardale ;-( and there was not much on the coast either.

Also a small parcel landed this week with this in
