Fresh Goods Sunday - Lezyne Zero Drive 250+ (Front LED light)

It is that time of year again when I start to drag my various lights back of hibernation and see if they are still working and give them a charge up. Many years ago I bought this model of small front led light from Lezyne and I used it on and off on numerous bikes mainly as a back up light or just a flashing light on the roads. Then it decided to start playing up when charging, it never showed the full charge mode light even after hours of charging. So I decided to buy a new one which has had a few tweaks for a back up in case my original light failed altogether. After a few more charges my original light was back to normal and fully working again. So my new one ended up in my spares tub for all of last winter season. This year I have took it out of my tub, charged it and started using it mainly on my Creo 2 attached to my Restrap cannister bag or my Trek Marlin+ as a back up light. I like this light due to its small size, lightweight, good run times, easy to operate and a simple rubber band mounting strap. It is quick to mount to handlebars and just as quick to remove. Charging is via port at the bottom of the light under a rubber cover which remains in place, you get a cable with the light but need a usb socket for plugging into the mains. As for the light it is never going to light up the trails but is not designed to do that. I has six different modes of light from constant to flashing. I tend to use the flashing mode in 250 lumens brightness on the road sections which has a run time of 22 hours, more than enough for me. For the money I feel it is good value for money and the feel of the materials / construction of light would have a higher rrp.

RRP £40 and I paid £30 from Merlin Cycles inc 48hr P&P.

Reaching my weekly mileage target in the gloom on my Creo 2

Another day of no weather as I call it. I needed to get back out to get a few more miles in to reach my minimum target of 50 miles of exercise a week. Yet again no sun or any real daylight, it was just cloud, overcast cold but dry ride. I hoped onto the old railway line at Langley Park and turned left to Broompark picnic area then straight on through Ushaw Moor, Esh Winning and up to Waterhouses n back. There was loads more other users out today on the old lines which made it slow going in places. On top of that there was nothing in my legs and my back is still sore. I am just not enjoying my cycling at the mo but I do enjoy the fresh air and just to get out and clear my head is the goal. All in it was just over 22 miles in 1hr 38mins with 660ft of climbing. Below are a few snaps enjoy and hopefully more soon-

A week of overcast cloud and dark skies, cold temperatures and struggling to get any miles in

Well what a strange week it has been, I have tried several times to get out on my bike but it has just not happened. The weather has not helped with overcast, cloudy and dark skies all week. We have had no real daylight as such and the temperature has well and truly dropped. The wind has made it feel even colder and autumn has set in now. Today though I dragged my lazy fat arse out for a short out n back route on the C2C line from Beamish to Hownsgill viaduct n back. It was just over 22 miles in 1hr 43mins with just under 800ft of climbing. There was a few others out but not many. Christ when is the sun ever going to show its face again, proper depressing this cloud and darkness every day, on the plus side we have had no rain. Enjoy a few photos below from the ride and hopefully more soon-
