Fresh Goods Sunday - Sealey 1 Drawer Mid-Box Tool Chest AP41119 - Red

I have decided not to do a full on cycling Fresh Goods Sunday today but is still sort of cycling related, more man cave bling to be honest. I have had my roller and top chest tool cabinets for many years now from Clarke / Machine Mart. The amount tools etc I accumulate over time is just unreal and it was time to expand my existing set up. I added a side drawer one last year which added a lot more shallow drawer space.
I was looking through the my new Sealey tool book and come across this mid drawer box and thought that would be ideal but was unsure if it would fit as my range is Clarke not Sealey. After checking the dimensions for length and depth it fitted perfectly on top of my roller cabinet and them my chest sits perfectly on top of the mid box. I am sure they come out of the same factory, the only difference is it is a slightly different shade of red. The single drawer is lovely and deep and has freed up more space in my other drawers now. The quality is about the same as Clarke and the cabinet is bloody heavy! defo a two person lift unless you are a weigh lifter. I have plenty of space now for most of my tools now and just need to have a clear out on a couple of the drawers on the roller cabinet.
As ever shop around and Sealey often run special offers throughout the year. OCL was very fast in posting the cabinet for free and would highly recommend them. As always with Sealey the rrp is just eye watering.

RRP £237.54 and I paid £146.53 from OCL Direct inc 24hr p&p. Discount 38%.

Easter Sunday - Local road ride - Longer loop around the hills inc Pontop Pike & Burnhope

After nearly another full day sorting out my second loft including three trips to the tip, laying another three bags of 200mm insulation that was enough for all of us.
Today the forecast was looking good again so I decided to get back out on my Creo 1 road bike as I had not washed it from the ride on Good Friday but it was charged up. I decided to do the same route but with two extra rather hilly loops. I wanted to get some extra climbing and length into the route. I set away and there was a ground frost with the grass white with frost and the Garmin was hovering just above 0 degrees! Once I started climbing up to Stanley the temperature had shot up. Within a hour of leaving it went from 0 to 10 degrees! I was overlayered so stopped and took one layer off and my gloves to try and cool my top half down. There was a few cars on the roads but not too busy, plenty of motor bikes heading for the Easter Egg Bunny run that they do ever year for charity. I wanted to do a extra third loop but I did not fit my range extender battery and would have been touch n go if the main battery would have lasted. All in 40.5 miles, 3200ft of climbing in 2hrs 49mins. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-

Good Friday - Early morning local road ride - Burnhope & Pontop Pike Transmitters

Today I was up and out early on the Creo 1 road bike for a local loop. I did not have long as Angus was coming around to give me hand sorting out our lofts and fitting another 200mm of insulation. I would have rather been out on my bike, awful job but have been putting it off for years. Arran did five tips runs in his car with rubbish that we have been hoarding for far too long.
Anyway back to the ride. I was on the roads by 6.30am and they were lovely and quiet with it being a bank holiday. We had heavy overnight rain so they were wet with some puddles in places. The road surfaces are not getting any better and would hate to be riding a road bike with anything less than 30-32mm tyres now a days. It was one of my regular local loops taking in Beamish and the transmitters at Pontop Pike, Burnhope and the one above Witton Gilbert. The sun was lovely but still a very cold wind with the Garmin reading just over 3 degrees to start with. It clouded over when I reached Burnhope but come back out again. By the time I got back home the Garmin had gone up to nearly 9 degrees. I had only one close'ish pass with the roads starting to get busy at the end. All in 32.5 miles in 2hrs 15mins with 2400ft of climbing, I felt tired for the whole distance so had no push on! Enjoy the few snaps, coupe of short video clips and route map below. Hopefully more soon but back in my second loft tomorrow!
