Man Cave Fettling

It was time to get caught up with some bike fettling - the rear wheel on the Cannondale Beat of the 'N' East felt loose when I got it back from Whinlatter so took off the cassette and stripped down the rear hub. All was clean, water / rust free and plenty grease in! so gave it all a rub down and re greased the axle, freehub etc. Refitted the axle, nipped up the cone and refitted the cassette. Put the back wheel in frame and nipped up the axle. There is still a very small amount of sideways movement but wheel / cassette spins freely. I also stripped down the rear wheel on Jane's Scott carbon Scale Contessa. It is a DT Swiss and there was no play in the bearings so cleaned it all out and re greased. I think there is slight play in the outer bearing on the freewheel but nothing too bad.
Since the rear puncture on the Mason and the Stans flying everywhere I left the inner tube in. Today I stripped out the tube, washed it all out and patched the tyre, then injected some new Stans. Hopefully the tyre will keep up under pressure, find out tomorrow morning!

Jan edt of Cycling Plus also landed last week! and a free calendar chucked in.
