Saturday morning local 12mile hike + catch up inc Mason tinkering etc

Thursday I only had time for a 1 hour walk and it was red hot. Friday and the rain came, real heavy as well so did some Mason tinkering, see bottom of this blog for info. We also had a quick 1/2 hour walk later in the evening after it dried up.
Today and the forecast was looking fantastic once again so me, Jane & Angus decided on a local walk starting from Durham University Botanic Gardens / top of Houghall woods. We had a walk around the woods, over to Maiden Castle, around the trod then into Low Shincliffe / High Shincliffe. From there down Strawberry lane to come out at Croxdale estate then back to the farm / riverside to come out at Low Shincliffe again then back to Houghall woods and into the café for a cuppa. Just under 12 miles in 3hrs 29mins. We never really stopped once, just kept going. The weather a good mix of sun, cloud, shaded woods, cool and red hot.
enjoy the photos below from walk and hopefully more soon -

Mason tinkering - some new bar tape landed this week from ebay, the only place I could find any copper coloured tape. It was not that cheap and feels on the cheap side tbh but we will see how it lasts. I also stripped down both wheels and fitted the new gold rim tape from Hunt. I also charged the Di2 up and that was about it.
