Weekend catch up and a local gravel ride on the Bowman Pilgrims

Finally some nice weather for a change, the Lakes have been basking in the sun for weeks now and the NE has nearly been the coldest place in the UK for days. Saturday am was the same old misty, heavy drizzle, cold and just awful but the sun did burn through so the bbq came out for the first time this year.
Sunday was sunny from the start so me and Jane had a drive up to Stanhope for a walk out over the moors, quarry, woods etc and called in past Station No40 café for a lovey cuppa and scone, walk along the riverside to the ford then back to the Dales Centre, got changed and had a walk down to the town for the chippy and paper shop for some drinks. The weather was fantastic, lovely cool wind on the top of the open moor but not a cloud in the sky. It was pleasant coming back down the through the woods in the shade.
Today and back to work but took the Bowman Pilgrims for a blast as the sun is still blazing away. A quick out and back route along the old railway towards Consett direction. The lines are bone dry and dusty so very easy going as I had a tailwind wind but a headwind on the way back down. A few walkers and other cyclists out. Loads of mums pushing prams / buggies today for some reason, don't blame them. Make the most of it as tomorrow its going to be even hotter but the thunder / rain is coming mid afternoon.
Forgot to take the camera yesterday but below is a few pics from today ride- enjoy and more soon.
